So what is the consensus for best racing game with online play for the 360?

I'm getting one soon (360 that is) and want a decent racer - i always found with PGR2 that the tracks were difficult to see cos the scenery was so dark generally.

Probably a deat heat between PGR3 and Test Drive Unlimited.

Although I like TDU more I have to admit!

Pgr3 has better support for the FF steering wheel.
Avoid NFS Hardon it's no sim, purely arcade and is utter shite with the wheel.

Just to play devils advocate, IMO, PGR3 blows TDU into the weeds for online play and single player.

Just my opinion though

Complete opposite. I find TDU the better game.

But hey, if we all thought the same, there wouldn't be anything to argue about!!

Try the TDU demo (available for DL on XBL). I got PGR3 for free in my bundle, but the whole titting about and challenging people in TDU is awesome, despite the basic physics model.

Yeah, you are wrong, I am right rofl

TDU is good, but I have been a PGR fan since the Xbox and I love it

Best thing to do for a racing game at the moment, wait !!

Forza 2 and GTR are on the way (allegedly).

To me TDU is completely different to PGR3, both games have their merits but I enjoy PGR3 more for driving nothing quite like attacking the 'ring in an SR3 Turbo ...

TDU is great for chilling out and driving 140 odd miles in your McL F1 just because you can...

I'm in the same position (just about to buy a 360), but going to wait for Forza and GTR to come out. I'm going to rely on GOW and Ghost Recon to keep me occupied until then.

Do download the TD:U demo from XBL. The online all the time thing really is impressive.

I'm with this man, although I loved both PGR3 and TDU, neither is a patch on a good online battle on Burnout.

I could never get my head around burnout and such.
I always got the feeling i could glue down the accelerator
button, go have dinner and watch a movie and still
do just as well.

You obviously spent too much time in the wall then, Burnout at it's best will make your eyes bleed, requiring the reflexes of a cat on speed and a highly calculated mind that will let you pick your way through traffic and obstacles whilst still allowing you to knock into your opponents.

Just get TDU and PGR3 and the racing wheel, you wont be unhappy whatsoever.
Avoid any games without licenced cars, unless you like those kiddy games

I got PGR3 with my console. Played with it for about an hour - was so very dull.

Burnout you've got everything - blistering speed, moments that genuinely make you breath in to squeeze between cars, and hilarious moments when you misjudge it totally and your wheels fall off spectacularly. There's a cracking racing game in there too.

I will admit PGR3 is more of a realistic racing game though, for those that prefer more depth than just out and out balls to the wall speed and excitement.

Your good self.

Burnout only came alive for me when I went HD. The game is a totally different kettle of fish and I suppose personal taste will be the decider.

Why we haven't suggested before I do not know, but the OP could just go and rent them before buying and see what floats his boat
