Wii questions...

I said I would never get one, but the more I read and hear about the Wii the more I want one!
BUT, I have zero first hand experience of them, so for the peeps that have had one for a few weeks now - are they any good, or is the controller system a gimick that doesn't have much staying power?

You've not seen the ads on TV then?
It's basically a series of mental mini games where you have about 5 seconds to complete a task before the next one appears, it then gets faster and faster, this vid should give you some idea what to expect:

I've also seen footage of a couple of other games where you have to perform a series of dance moves holding onto the controller and waving it about in time with the on-screen character.

Without sounding like I'm made of money (because I serious am not, wish I was...)
£200 squids for a Wii and a game or two is very reasonable nowadays with the likes of the 360 & PS3 around.
I'll buy one as soon as I can get my hands on one as it'll pay for itself tenfold as soon as you have a few mates over...
I don't find the 360 (online excluded) a very social experience at all.

They're good fun, mine is living downstairs in the lounge as a party system that gets broken out when people come over, Warioware is out for it tomorrow and is going to be the perfect game to watch everyone make a complete tit of themselves playing.
Seconded. Ordered my Mum one cus she loves Mario and Zelda on her old Gamecube. got it on the first day it was out and both my mum and myself have enjoyed the console.
the controller is very good and apart from Wii sports and the one with the extra controller she's got Zelda and a Rabbit/platformer game that I cannot remember the name of
worth the money and very enjoyable

I'm sorry to hear that, but it's made my evening knowing the games are that involving
It really is that involving! I happen to be absolute turd at cow tossing apparently!
But still, I have never smacked myself in the face whilst playing it!!
