Forza 2 and GTR release dates

I'm just about to buy myself an Xbox 360. And I'm putting off buying any racing titles as these two are supposedly released soon. There seems to be varying dates on their release. Does anyone have any info on specific dates? Also to occupy myself up until then, I'll be getting GOW with the XBox 360. What would everyone recommend as a decent multiplayer sports title to go along with GOW?

What is the basic premis of this game?
Get a car and the drive it where you want? Whats the point of the game?
With Forza2 slipping, the release date has got really close to GTR. Play has GTR as 23/2 and Forza 2 as 28/3. I think Forza 2 will be a cert, but want to play a demo of GTR before buying as Simbin are new to consoles, so may bodge the port.
TDU is brilliant tho'. The physics are suspect, but the online play is awesome. MMO driving environment is the best description I have seen. Went for a 40 minute blast along the northern coast road with a mate last night, me in a Sag, him in a 288GTO. Excellent fun nipping in and out of traffic.

basic premise, yes drive where you want, do driving challenges to earn money & buy houses & cars. lots of races, lots of vehicles including very fast bikes, awesome graphics (island of hawaii). Hire it from blockbusters a,d you will buy it the next day!
Well the shops dont know s#it do they, about anything.
Use the official forums to find out about possible release dates, although to be honest I would rather wait for a better game than have it rushed out in March.
To me it seems like they are going hell for leather, especially with the sound (AT LAAAASST).
