Oh wow - I've been missing out!
Discussion
Now I may get initially shot down for this but...
Forza.
I had it with my old xbox and initially loved it, but then it got a bit, well, boring. So it ended up languishing and then I got shifted of it when the xbox mk1 went as part ex for the 360.
Now with Forza 2 coming up in May (according to Game) I thought I should re-acquaint myself with it, especially as I wanted to try out the 360 wheel (No force-feedback obviously but with the vibrate and natural resistance of the gearing inside)
I picked up a copy today from Game for under a tenner and plugged it in when I got in - one update later...
The wheel can't recognise the flappy gear shifts unfortunately so I have switched manual gears off (the one downside) everything else is...well simply amazing. The graphics look pretty dated already, but with all the driver aids off
and all of the other bits like the circuit map etc switched off, I cant believe how cool (and hard!) this game is.
I am currently messing around with an MX5 around Laguna Seca and it is sooo much fun, it takes some getting used to with the braking especially - very sensitive pedal, but I now see, after all this time, exactly why this is a simulator and PGR is an arcade. The Physics are fantastic!
I have fallen in love all over again, and once again am thankful that I bought the wheel.
I may not see you online for this game, but you know I'm going to have fun offline!
