Lock me if it's a repost, but I couldn't find another thread. Didn't stick this in the Computer games forum because frankly it's more than a game - it's a proper workout!

My mate just came over with his Wii and I've just been playing it for the first time. After 15 minutes I'm sweating like I do in the gym and I've got aching muscles that I didn't know I had before. Takes a bit of getting used to, but once you do it's bloody brilliant. And I'm saying this as someone approaching 30 who last played on his PS2 about 2 years ago...

Awesome stuff and thoroughly recommended!

I know it's terribly childish but it's really quite difficult not to snigger over:

He got it off eBay and paid over the odds, but when they have them in the shops they'll be £180 for the console and a disk with a load of sports games. A second controller (essential), is about £50. Need for Speed sucks - trying to driver with such a sensitive controller is a nightmare. But the other stuff is all good!

A colleauge got one at work today and we put it on the 50" HD plasma we have. Unbelievable!

She was really lucky as someone else at work found that Woolworths had them on order so she put the order in on Tuesday this week and picked it up today for £180! The next deliveries are indicating end of February now but it was great fun. Certainly very tempted!

You need Zelda. Twilight Princess on the Wii is a brilliant game; I belive it works out as 60hrs of play time from the thing.

I have bought an X Box and a PS 2 and am yet to play either.

I ended up giving both of them away, as I just cant get the hang of the controller things.

So I am quite looking forward to getting one.

But I am patient so I will wait until they are available, as I'm not playing ebay prices.

thats kinda why a friend bought a proper seat and steering wheel for GT4 a couple of years ago. totally changed the game play once you had a proper input device.

i'm not much of a gamer myself but must admit i can't keep of the thing.
so far we've just got the sports game that came with it and i'm spending most of my time trying to master the golf, i've also had a few goes on the training level trying to get gold medals for the target practice.

had a go at boxing but i can't seem to get the hang of the controls and keep getting knocked out paperbag

My friend just walked into Game and bought three Wiis less than a week after they were first released. Obviously not a rush on here.

Same here, had a great laugh round at ours when i borrowed an imported wii. Tennis in 2 player mode was a lot of fun too, couldn't get the hang of the baseball thing though. You do work up quite a sweat after 15-20 minutes or so, but then again i am a lazy sod

Played a few other games like call of duty and the triad one (forget its name) they were dissapointing really. Wii sports is a game you can have for months and still have fun.

Any recommendations on games then chaps?
