Check Fileplanet where you can sign up for a demo/beta.

It's released in March so not long to wait for the full version, but if anyone wants to try early the 3.5gig download is probably worth it!

And it's very bloody nice!

Even on my 2yr old high-end system it's fun enough, it must be stunning on a new system!

Not played this on the Xbox360, but with my Driving Force Pro on the PC it was great. Got myself a TVR Sagaris asap, though the Ford GT appears to be the real bargain rocket after a nice test drive!

Still needs work as this is a demo but what an amazing concept brought to reality! NFS4 successor at long long last!

I can't seem to get to the download page

I enter the funny looking key code thing but the next page doesn't seem to fully load. Anyone else having this problem?

worked for me straight away man, could just be high ammount of american kids downloading stuff ?
I downloaded it from a torrent site then got the key from filefront or whatever its called.

Just hope that they release the next car pack for the 360 first before spending all their time on the pc version.
I wish I could use my saved data from the 360 on the PC, I really really dont want to drive every single road on the island again, heh.

I wouldn't go building up your garage because it's not likely it'll carry over. Just fun for a bit for me since I don't have an XBox360...

Not so keen at all on the logon system mind you. It's keyed into Gamespy, and I've ended up confusing myself and the game with my accounts there, which appear to be made and un-deletable there after, and tied to your email address.

Mine was Mr Whippy, which was fine, but the game didn't like the space, so I changed it to MrWhippy, which didn't work because the profile name wasn't that, and round in weird circles I go for many many hours working out how the gamespy/TDU profiles work mad

Lets hope the retail version has a native setup for profiles rather than resorting to an external Gamespy profile setup which is far from user obvious or friendly!

Those things apart though it does play nicely, gonna have to update the old PC though, need HDR lighting

HDR is surely the single coolest graphical feature of the last few years.

The Xbox look great, and using the PC afterwards everything looks totally flat and lifeless (I use both through the same screen, too). It took me ages to realise that its because the xbox has HDR.

You just need a gfx device with HDR support...

I'm planning on an upgrade soon so not a huge issue, but the Xbox360 video's I've seen look more realistic even in 320x240 on Google video or whatever.

Only downside of Xbox 360 is that I'd need a HD TV, and then a wheel to work with it (because the DFP or G25 probably won't work with it), so I'm looking at nearly £800 there which is a nice upgrade for my PC which will do lots of other stuff too.

Some stunningly quick cars in there, but the real joy is the sense of speed in fast cars on small roads. Test driving the Lambo Murc was amusing I was almost laughing out loud. 2nd gear, floor it, time to change gear, look down, no, 2500rpm to go and then the noise and surroundings just went ballistic

Maybe not so realistic but it feels nice enough for what your doing here (road work, not at limit circuit stuff), but the sense of speed and immersion is second to none! HDR is just going to be stupidly nice on a good PC setup!

It will feel more releastic with 'Hardcore' mode, which is for the 360 but most likely to be on the PC as well. This will improve the handling, especially for the those of us with steering wheels (thank god).
I thought it ran quite well on my PC with maximum everything (with HDR), looked good, not sure which system looks better at the moment.
Will judge when new tv arrives.

It has now been removed from fileplanet!

Still, only 4 weeks to go on the torrent download at this rate

The game is out on the 5th afaik from gamer websites, so best just to wait rather than bother having to spend time getting it... that said it may well move again as it was on the 16th for a while.

Yep Rob, hardcore mode is already in from the looks of it, you just need to get to a higher level on the points system before it's unlocked from what I can see.

Had another good play last night, got myself a nice white Sagaris and had a blast for about 50 miles. Really is very amusing setting a location on the other end of the island and it literally taking 30 mins to get there! The terrain changes are stunning too, I genuinely can't believe the enormity of the projects scale. I thought PD/GT4's Ring was impressive but this is just on another level!

Found the Koenigsegg seller and had a hoon in a CC8S, I just can't begin to be impressed by the sounds and immersion. 3rd gear up through 100mph REALLY feels so stunningly fast even in these cars which will do those speeds very easily... somehow they have made fast cars not dull the slower car experience.

Also had a few races online. A person in an A3 3.2 beat me in my Sagaris, badly The TVR is fast and covers ground so well, but TRY too hard and throw traffic into the mix and it just gets really tatty! Again, great that the developers have managed to add so much character to all the cars, really has got alot of depth in the content!

Cant find it on flieplanet, anyone provide me with a link?

Never really caught my attention this game but I got sidetracked to looking at videos on youtube, it looks very cool! Reminds me of Need for Speed 1 - caining down coastal roads dodging the traffichehe

Or just use it on your PC monitor?
That's what i did by using the VGA lead.

How does that work then?

I have a 20" LCD, native res is 1600x1200, so does the Xbox input a VGA compatible resolution the monitor can display properly? One that maximises the Xbox's potential?

Really curious how good the game looks on Shader3 now, was watching some Xbox360 vids and the water shaders and things look so stunning. I can't help but hope that the bells and whistles PC version will match the Xbox360 (being the same DirectX engine I assume)...

Played again last night, still very nice. Just hoping that they add more multiplayer features, because on the Xbox360 the multiplayer is rather ad-hoc, and I think for a PC game it needs more community feel to it, as thats how PC players play more. Ie, sit down for an hour or two vs the console idea of a quick blast.

If you get the xbox vga cable, you get a choice of resolutions, the highest being 1360x768. I am running at 1280x768, as thats the native resolution of my TV. FWIW, Play do a cheap one that is just fine.

So is that maxing the resolution output of the Xbox360, or not?

I'm not up on my 1080i p whatever stuff. I'm not sure why they don't just say 1280x960 or whatever it really is

Ie, is top-end VGA output gonna look as good as the best HD setting?

Trying to decide. £800 PC upgrade, OR, Xbox360 and a nice HD TV? Problem is I use PC alot for many things, wheras a console would just gather dust except when I play games. Hmmmmm...
