Both have been out a while and have come down in price.

Anybody played both and have an opinion?

Played DEMO of Prey, didnt like it, thought FEAR is much better as a FPS, scary, jumpy.
I have it on the PC not the 360 but guess same deal.

My vote:
FEAR

I have a PC and played the demos for both and thought FEAR was better. I'm now well into the full game (FEAR) and think it's great. thumbup

Prey was one of the first games I got, to be honest, i wasnt that impressed.

Looked nice, but the multi-gravity/spirit walk was a nice touch but got old very quickly.

Quite a short game, and not much variety - online wasnt great either.

Doesnt come anywhere near GoW IMO..

Exactly what i thought. Swapped it after about a week. Very linear.

I kept it till i completed it (got it as part of the 360 package), but it was the first game i traded, and it went the moment I had finished it.

The single player is shorter than GoW, and no where near as difficult, the only part is the gravity puzzles, but once you know what to look for, thats a Piece of urine too..

F.E.A.R

First person shooter with a spooky edge.

Crazed psycho [eats people] is also a psychic and has mind control of an army of genetically engineered soldiers.

You are special ops. And go in to kill the psycho, break his mind control and so decommission the army.

However, there is a 3rd party involved... and this 3rd party is genuinely scary.

I loved it. Game play (and AI) is great and it will put you on edge of your sofa and give you an occasional fright.
