rFactor HRC mod

[R1 GTR]

looking on rFactor central there seems to be a lot of versions. do i need to get v1 then get the v1.1 update?
and regarding the add ons, do you put them in to your HRC folder?

There's only one version of HRC, Version 1 (just different places from where to download it), then install the update (v1.1) that fixes a few bugs that appeared. The Pikes Peak addon will install cars and tracks, the other add-on are more tracks so they will get installed to the locations folder, again just look at the RAR file and if the top folder is for example the gamedata folder you point your extraction at the folder above, which would be the rfactor folder.
