With all the questions I ask, people must think I'm thick!!

I've just bought this TV. I've hooked up the 360 and it all works fine. However, I wanted to try TDU and it said that the system was set on PAL 50 and I needed to changed to PAL 60. I'd done this before on my old TV many times without problem, so didn't think much of it. However, when I changed over the picture turned to Black and White. Does this mean it doesn't support PAL 60?

I didn't think my old TV did as whenever I selected PAL 60 on PS2 games it went B&W, but with the Xbox it worked fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem may be? Is it a case of buying a wire or something to make it PAL 60.

Forgive my ignorance once again, but I feel that if a 7 year old TV can run it, why can't a brand spanking new one?

Thanks in advance for the help guys.

how is the 360 connected? PAL (50 or 60) is standard def but the 360 and that TV is High Def. Connect the two via VGA or component and you'll have HD

But I'd need the HD leads wouldn't I?

I've only got the standard lead from the Core pack.

Well it is a high def TV so you're not getting the full benefit from it without those cables. It's like running an Enzo on regular unleaded, you're not using it to it's full potential.

Yes, but I only had a standard TV to start. I'm going to get the leads anyway. So if I wire it with the HD leads then it should run fine in PAL60 settings, correct?

Really need to get a fix of TDU, haven't played it for nearly 2 days now and I don't want play it in B&W, as that wouldbe like running an Enzo on Diesel!!

Not really, PAL 60 is standard def (ie old TV quality). With HD leads you'll be playing in HD (excellent quality) thumbup

Get the HD lead and you won't have to worry about it as it's a digital connection.

You will also be able to run in High Definition, which is surely the point when you buy a HDTV?????? confused

Definately.

I was just worried when it wouldn't work through the AV. Like I said, a 7 year od TV ran it fine so I just wanted to be sure that it would work in colour with the HD leads.

Thanks everyone for the advice.
