any driving games that allow auto gear change and easy game play ? going back to halo for some fun

WASD and mouse look, in a racing game?!?!?

If you are using a keyboard then auto gears and additional driving aids that can be turned on and off are probably best until you learn how to play it without spinning but of course that takes time and it sounds like you just want a 5minute blast. If that's all you want try Mario Kart instead.

options are keyboard, controller 1 and 2, guess i could get the joystick from the loft assuming it is still there, but multiple keys are a pain, might just stick to hardcore fps games instead

I used to play the original Grand Prix (Geoff Crammond) with at first a digital joystick then an analogue one. It worked really well but took a few goes before even a change as similar as that worked for me. Some people in our league think use a joystick and they're not slow.

I feel the same frustrations with FPS games.I play by turning the mouse upside down and
rolling the desk around on it.

Driving games made easy; Need for Speed series, Crashday, Flatout 1+2. can use WSAD keys for them if you have to. Buy a 360 controller at least for driving games. £17 investment is not too hard to swallow. never had a wheel, but a must i think for the likes of GTR, Toca, Live for Speed and rFactor
