You are allowed 4 ONLY - any format and I know it's difficult.

Name YOUR classics- the ones you will always remember and FEEL, and maybe associate with a particular machine.

For what it's worth- My 4:

Amiga 500-- Kick off

Playstation 1: Resident evil and Gran Turismo - before that we had nothing to compare.

PC - Battlezone 2 (awesome - still my fave in 2007)

In no particular order;
pulling the emergency cord between stations,
pressing against sexy females in overcrowded tube trains,
pushing past people to get the last seat in the carriage,
playing my ipod really load to see if anyone will have the balls to complain.

or did I get it wrong again?!

Megadrive - Sonic the Hedgehog
PS1 - Doom
PS2 - Metal Gear Solid 3 (and 2 actually - that was a blinder!)
PS2 - the entire Gran Turismo series

If I was allowed one more I'd pick Grand Theft Auto too.

Super Mario World-SNES I still play this
Tetris-Gameboy (I used to dream of falling blocks and caught myself thinking about it during the day, I did get stupidly good at it and managed to get all 3 space rocket endings at 100k points 150k points and 250k points for game A and the space shuttle ending for completing game B on level and "high 5". Im not sure what my all time record was but I think it was about 400k)
Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time-N64
Legend of Zelda IV-Gameboy (this was very much like the snes 's zelda 3 a link to the past but with its own storyline etc)
These are all older games as at the times they were really important and I played them every day and computer games were much more important to me. Unfortunately now I just dont have the time to play them as often as I did and while Im sure I'll play games that will match them at some point, these ones will always be what I remember as my favourite games. The closest any semi recent one has got has been metroid prime but even it wasnt as good as Zelda on the N64.

Quake 2 CTF - had 4 fantastically entertaining (and adrenaline pumping at times) years playing that in several structured leagues as part of a team of 6. It's eye-opening how well 6 people can "gel" and work together, even "virtually". Still consider the other 5 guys as good friends.

Railroad Tycoon - Days, nay months, lost on this on the old Amiga. Crushingly sad topic yet incredibly compelling.

Elite - The definitive classic. Nothing ever came close, not even the sequels. Nostalgia helps, obviously.

Gran Turismo 3 - GT4 is a better game, but GT3 absorbed me and got me hooked on my PS2 while I had it. If I'd played the first 2 more I might have suggested them, but 3 was my "proper" intro to the franchise.

Wolfenstein3d, the first of the third person shooters.
Dune 2, the first real RTS.
Unreal Tournament, the first really good multiplayer FPS.
Total Anhnilation, possibly the best RTS yer; spawned god knows how many modifiers.

I'd also include any number of mods based of of UT, such as infiltration and Tactical Operations.

Halflife narrowly missed out to UT due to the mods.

edited to correct some (probably not all) drunken spelling.

Tetris. How I loved that game. I loved it when you couldn't go up anymore levels and just had to play for hours like that. Think my best ever was well over a million points!

Pff...Q2 beat it by a long shot. Capture the Flag, Rocket Arena, Lithium, Deathmatch...not to mention the physics of the game engine.

UT was behind in every way except graphics.

Exactly.
I necer got into Q2, despite playing it a fair bit. On the other hand, I was a master of UT.
