Had a blast on a friends Wii yesterday with mrs2100.
Jeez what a fantastic console. Before I had seen his I thought that this was a bit gimmicky, however what a fantastic machine.
We were playing Wii sports and even mrs2100 was playing bowling which she loved (She never plays on computer games as she doesn't have the patience!
The boxing is a great workout and I felt more tired after 1 fight than 1 hour at the gym.
what does everybody else think of them?
Big problem now is that she wants one, but can't seem to find any!

Novelty wears off IMO.
It is great, innovative and its the first console that the ladies seem to enjoy....but 3 months on I am beginning to crave better graphics and titles. I was hoping for some original games with the new control method but nothing, as far as I can see the games which do use the wiimote and nunchuck are doing it just for the sake of it if you see what I mean.
Tiger Woods 07 was the first title I really liked the look of but the graphics are shocking. I'm the first to say that gameplay is vital but you cant ignore the graphics and IMO these are not up to scratch.
So, I would say its make or break over the next few months, they need to pull at least a few more games out of their hat or I think the interest will drop in favour of the others...
Time will tell

I echo Rob P. It's a brilliant console, but... needs more games. Some would argue that as it's doing NES, SNES, Megadrive, N64, GameCube and it's own stuff that you have a lot to choose from.
However, EA and co aren't going to do much with the Wii-mote's interface as they don't want to flash the cash and develop for it (same can be said about them using the 360, PS3 to maximum abilities). So you're better of waiting for Nintendo's own titles to lead the way; but as I said in P&P, Wii bundle + Zelda + a few VC games = good return on cash.
And yes... Zelda really is a monster of a game... 60hrs+ to do it all and the side quests.
Personally, Mario and Smash Bros need to appear... now.

I work for EA and there are plenty of Wii titles in development.
Didn't say they weren't just that EA and most other publishers aren't in the market to spend cash on letting the slave... erm... developers do anything that looks like it might cost money. Redoing an interface to make full use of the Wii-mote costs money. Cheaper to just use a sledgehammer and make it kinda, almost, but not quite do normal FPS/console stuff.
Unless we're talking about two different companies called EA. Personally I'm on about Electronic 'perma-crunch no overtime you naughty devs' Arts.

, i find the sports is mega addictive. I've had my Wii for about a month now and still do the fitness test everyday. Red steel is also a pretty good game although the graphics could've been better. Gonna have to get Zelda next and hopefully brain academy will be out soon.
