Wow... you actually bought one! I remember being a kid and seeing "Sam" the robot thingy on the advertising in whatever Speccy mag I was reading at the time. In the end I gave up and got an A500. What was it actually like - any good to use? I read about all the issues around memory contention speed issues and only having 48k Speccy emulation. Between that, the 128 colour palette, and the fact that my grandfather bought me a computer mag that turned out to be an early Amiga one that showed both Deluxe Strip Poker screenshots looking "lifelike" (hey, I was 10 at the time!) and some Amiga Basic code to do speech (i.e. "Say", my mind was made up, and New Zealand Story beckoned.... motherf*ckingkiwibastard

I didn't but a Uni mate did. Not quite sure why. My Z80 desires were directed more at the Elan/Flan Enterprise. Amazing machines but sadly too late to market.

It wasn't bad, but had no games backup...and I too sold out and got the A500 plus when it came out.

I still have it though - boxed and with a spare disk drive
