US Wii games

Just a quick question. will they work on my mums UK Wii?

'fraid not, seems the games are region locked. Wii's can apparently be chipped, but the chips aren't totally region free at the moment, so I'm led to believe. Not bothered to look into chipping mine to be honest.

O/T, but what a great advert for the diversity of the Wii consumer demographic, "my mum's Wii", really shows it is a groundbreaking console, opening up new market areas. (IMHO)
