About a year ago I decided to try to revive the old-school style fun I had when I used to play Sensible World of Soccer on the Amiga back in about 1995. So I went out and purchased this:

Safe in the knowledge that I could get SWOS working with an Amiga emulator, after all how hard could it be? Apparently very hard. I could get the game working but I couldn't get a save disk to work. Ho-hum.

About a year later I decided to try again. This time, much messing about managed to get the save disk to work. Happy days! I took over as manager of Torquay and away I went. 10 games into the season, and I got a "guru meditation" error. Amiga owners will remember those! This happened several times, enough for me to think it was a lost cause - until I found this:

www.eibmoz.dk/swos0506/index.php

That's an emulator bundled with a hard disk version of SWOS, but updated to 2005-6 season teams and players.

And it's great. I feel like I'm 15 years old again, and I love it! I've just won promotion to the second division with Kidderminster, and also the League Cup, Europe here I come!

Just thought I'd share the wealth, you can pick up the joystick for about £10, you wont get more bang for your buck as far as I'm concerned!

I also found out it's coming out on the XBOX-360 later this year in it's completely original Amiga format from the 1996 version...

As much as I'm sure it is cracking fun, I love the depth of Pro-Evo too much.

There are a few products i think that allow plug and play of sensi onto your tv.
You know, those joystick/joypad things with the games built in.
One includes cannon fodder and megalomania on the same unit.

I found this one but i am sure there was a joystick version too.

Takes me back anyway this post, although it may spark a kick off vs sensi debate

I see that Sensi is coming on on XBLA soon. Should be worth a punt.

Shame that plug in TV game is the Mega Drive version, i seem to remeber that the ball stuck to your feet on the console versions. Took a lot of skill out of the game, The Amiga version was always the best.

Its also been re-released for Windows Vista. Here's hoping for an XP release! The plug and play ones don't have a save game function as far as I know. Boo.

I had this game on the SNES... I remember the being a spot on the wings just behind the halfway line that you could score from every time, it was awesome!
