Finally gave in today and bought rFactor.

Just downloaded harewood hillclimb but can't get it to work, can anyone tell me what folder to put it in please and how to make it work?

Thanks!

It goes into the Locations folder, I can't remember how it extracts itself, but if you do it to the desktop you'll work it out.

Just open up whatever is on the desktop until you get to the Locations folder. Then move the Harewood folder to your rfactor-gamedata-locations folder.

Keep the structure of the folder you move. Inside the Harewood folder, is another Harewood folder and 2 MAS files. Don't move these about or into different folders.

Harewood isn't the best track if you want eye candy though. Plus others that can have some even better textures applied to them such as the tracks this chap - http://sln.rscsites.org/ <---- These are just texture updates for the listed tracks on there.

OK got Harewood to work ok, then downloaded Nurgburgring and a few others and none seem to work, the ring and silverstone (pre '92) don't load at all and Pikes Peak tells me I have MAS files missing.

I've downloaded to desktop then dragged them into the the locations folder and extracted the files as normal but the aren't working. I haven't moved anything into or out of these folders.

Also downloaded the GP2 mod and the cars won't load either... any suggestions please?

If you have errors saying MAS file missing you have installed the track to the wrong place because it can't find that file. They all work. What version of the Nurburgring have you downloaded, does it have a readme file. It might be the version that uses the modern GP circuit as well so needs to be extracted to that folder not one of its own. But read the documentation that come with them.

e.g For Pikes Peak you need to install Pikes Peak HRC 1.0 Addon then Pikes Peak Update & Snowy if you want the latest version. You will then have a folder in your locations folder called PikesPeak in it you have 2 MAS files and 2 folders.

GP2 if you use the auto-installer exe point it to your main rFactor folder.
