Getting bored with Civ IV, so need a new game to keep me entertained on my laptop to and from work.

It can't be too next gen, as it won't run on my laptop (though it's a reasonable spec) so I was just wondering what the PH massive thought was worth a punt - I am totally open to ideas!!

Rome Total War, without a doubt - plays absolutely fine on the wife's £600 laptop too!

Command and conq 3 Tiberian war.

Very pretty graphics, far superior game play to supreme commander and runs well on a paulty spec machine.

Requires a fair bucket of juice but Company of Heros is a fine game. If your system is happy running it get this

have tried RTW with a mod like this;

www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=114

It expands the map plus the gameplay is much, much better - even though I have 2 Total War, I still keep coming back to play this mod!

The wife has a game called 'The Movies', and that also looks very good, and addictive!

If you're even remotely interested in footie, Football Manager 2007 will make your commute pass in what seems like seconds. I've lost more of my life than I'd care to think about to the various incarnations of Championship Manager and then latterly Football Manager.....

Not overly demanding in terms of PC spec either, providing you don't try to run too many leagues at the same time.

never really been into footy sims, though I may have to give it a look.

Company of Heroes looks good.

Here's looking forward to Civilisation V!

CnC3, brilliant.
SupCom, Ok.
Rome Total War is apparently good.
CoH is good.

You can legally download MechCommander and MechCommander 2 from 'Tortuga', they're old and the graphics are a bit naff but still decent games.
