I've read good things about Virtua Fighter 5 if you're into beat 'em ups 
Heavenly Sword is looking very nice, but it won't be out for at least a few more months.
EDIT: Add LINKY
Home is another but again won't be out until, I think at least september time.
Burnout 5 is supposed to have great potential too, but probably wont be out until 2008.

Much like the 360 , ps2, ps1 when first out. I had all these and took a good year for any amount of greta games to come out
Army of 2 looks good
I don't know, there was more appealing stuff for the 360 within a few months of it arriving, the PS3 has been out in America and Japan for a good 6 months now and nothing of any real note has arrived, Motorstorm and Resistance are both good, but I wouldn't call either a must-have title.
The 360 launched with PGR3 which I would call a must-have, within 4 months of launching you also had Oblivion and GR:AW out, then a steady stream of quality titles over the following months, there is nothing in the immediate future for the PS3 that is screaming out "Buy me!" and it's a real shame.
Got a few games.
Motorstorm is pretty good graphically. The physics in F1 are probably the best in any driving game ever - especially the way the cars deform in accidents.
COD3 is good for online battles.
A game I've really got into is Blazing Angels. Good in multiplayer mode online too. Very easy to get into a game and have a blast.
I do agree, there isn't much out at the moment, and nothing in the immediate future which really excites me.
GTA, Getaway and Stuntman Ignition this year hopefully. Driver 5 next month might be interesting too. I'd like Test Drive Unlimited to come out on the PS3 soon though.

but Unreal Tournament 3 might be on my list. I've not played that for years. But it was a very very fast moving game.

Indeed its is, huge beyond all reason and very pretty as well, this one is going to keep me busy for a good while.
Throw in Resistance for shooting people on-line, with a nice mix of F1:CE and Motorstorm for racing and away you go. Not a bad start to the PS3 in my opinion.
