The only problem with your suggestion is car cost.
Great car as it is the GT3 costs 163000 credits and unless people are moving along with the game pretty rapidly they will not be able to afford that (or even have it unlocked to buy). I've even gifted a couple of the M3's because people didnt really have the cash at the time and the BM is only 40k(ish). It's something to bear in mind when we decide what to use.
The Porsche 930 Turbo would probably be a better bet for that class is it is one of the early gift cars. Outside choise would be a Sagaris, but again, this is pretty pricey for new comers to buy and established players to give away.
Something AWD for class C sounds like a good suggestion, but currently I think we should enjoy the M3's a bit more (I havent fully finished the paint on that yet, don't wanna paint another so soon
).
ps. unrelated but I reached level 30 last night after one of our online races and was given the 355 Challenge. Chuffed with that as I was about to buy one after trying it in an online race

the whole idea is to earn money...doesnt take long to get enough cash together...those newbs can race with one from the arcade selection like i did before i got my hyundaiGreat car as it is the GT3 costs 163000 credits and unless people are moving along with the game pretty rapidly they will not be able to afford that (or even have it unlocked to buy). the trouble with the M3's is not down to the car.. its down to people taking there brains out and trying to win a 40-60 minute race on the first lap, some people just need to learn some race craft

Yes the whole idea is to earn money, but if people really want to get involved and are new to the game they might not be as far with Career mode as you and me and isn't it slightly fairer to select a car they can afford early on and paint up with Pistonheads logos?
I thought the whole point of the Pistonheads series was for people to drive the same Pistonhead Liveried cars and have fun together. Choosing a car that some can't afford is a little unfair at this moment.
The GT3 doesnt become unlocked until later in the game (and even then you have to have started in the European hall otherwise it unlocked MUCH later on) and cost's a huge amount of money compared to the other 911, almost twice the price of the 997T. It is for this reason I suggested the 930T. Fairness.
The 930T is an earlyish prize car (ie Free) and to be honest isn't that much slower/more wayward. I can lap Mugello pretty much within a couple of seconds in a standard 930 to that of the GT3.
I would much rather race with a grid full of personalised cars to one that is half full of standard arcade cars.
(And comparing buying a GT3 to buying your first Hyundai...

Sounds good to me...
D: Hyundai Tuscani (FF)
C: Lancia Delta (AWD)
B: E46 BMW M3 (FR)
A: Porsche 911 GT3 (997) (MR)
S:
I'm pretty sure if 90% of the time you want to play class A everyone in the room will be able to get it one way or another...
As for class S, I like my Enzo, but it is tweaked - not sure about that - what about a U999 class where anything goes?

Ok, 997 GT3 sounds good (I was only trying to save some money for those with little in the bank).
If we are still in agreement by close of business I will buy one this evening bofore I go out. Hell, I think I'm gonna buy one anyway.
you started the issue everyone else was happy with it If we are still in agreement by close of business I will buy one this evening bofore I go out. Hell, I think I'm gonna buy one anyway.

ive bought one now we just need to settle on class C

. I mearly raised the point that not everyone can either afford the car or will have it unlocked. A point proved to be valid by the career progress thread, some people who want to play online have very little money at the moment and are much lower ranked than us.And by the way 3 people (you, Fidgits & Jon) does not constitute "everyone" when I've often raced against a full house in the M3's and the total number playing can easily cover 2 or more seperate races. I've heard several people mentioning TVR's for this group.....
But if "everyone" is agreed on GT3's then cool, great car to drive.
Still, Integrale sounds good for C but Personally may I suggest we now wait for a while before rushing in and deciding group S. Plenty of mixable forumla's to be getting on with and let those new to the game catch up on the money front. Besides, a bigger group decision would be somewhat more, erm, polite on such a fast formula.
Prehaps the current list could be stickied in a post by a moderator at the top of this forum so all those whishing to play can know the score and what they need to be involved? We seem to have loads of rFactor stickies, why not a Forza 2 one?
