Xbox 360 and wireless USB key

Has anybody tried to hook their 360 up with a wireless USB key and wireless router? I've got a mate who wants to do it, and I can't get round his place to test it out at the moment.

I'm not sure if it will work as I guess you'll need a driver for the key...

Almost certain that it won't.

He can get the wireless do-dah for his xbox for like 40 notes, get one of them and use it with his router.

Dixons sold my missues one of these when i asked her to get me the wireless adpator for my birthday (not her fault, the assistant assured her it would work)

As it is, the xbox wont recognise anything in the USB that isnt MS encoded, so basically just the xbox own wireless adaptor.

Now, if you get a gaming wireless connector that goes into the Ethernet port - that 'might' work, but will cost about the same as the official MS wireless adaptor, so there you go..

Just move the router to the xbox and make anything else in the house wireless.

You've either got a duff router/wireless adaptor or your connection is crap to begin with.

also - if you have a lot of TCP connections through the same router as your xbox connection that can cause lag

I hated it with my PC (when I could time the connection using software) so never tried it with the box.

Still reckon proper cables are the way to go.
