On advice from another and reading the AV forums I went out and purchased a VGA cable for my 360 yesterday and WOW, if I had known the difference in clarity it would make I would have bought one the same time as the console.
I have a 32" LCD HD ready screen and everything is so much sharper than running in HD through the component cable that came with the unit (tried both 720p & 1080i).

The colours are totally vibrant using colour setting "expanded" and the reflections seem to look so much more real. I recently found myself at the point where replays were nice but I wouldnt bother watching them (seen that, very nice, but lets race). However after plugging in the VGA the difference was so obvious I found myself watching most of my race replays and saving several more.

£19.99 very, very well spent and if you have the connections for a VGA I can heartily recommend one to you.

I'm sure alot of you are already aware of this as I've only had my 360 a few weeks but thought I would mention it anyway...

I remember posting on here a while back that the 360 looked better using an SVGA cable over the component one only to be told by the PH crew that I was talking nonsense.

So thanks for this!

I've been using the VGA cable for ages and extremely happy with the results.

The only problem I have with it was that it wouldn't play Forza 1.

So i had to plug in the standard scart type cable that came with the console.

Not an issue now!
