Changing to PAL 60

Just got my xbox BUT when i plug into my 32in LCD (non-hd) with forza, it asks me to change to PAL 60. When i try this, the screen goes white then flickers a bit but remains at PAL 50. It works fine on my 14inch old tv but the effect isnt so great. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you got the HD component cables plugged in? If so, take them out and use the SD connection instead and then chose PAL 60.

I've tried plugging the scart in and the 3 plugs into the side but still no joy. Can't find much info on my TV but have an inkling that it doesnt support PAL 60. Can't really understand why a decent 2 year old 32inch LCD TV doesn't support it, but a 10 year old shite 14incher does.

Really annoyed now as i'm going to have to send it back
