Best set of songs yet IMO, picked it up in Tesco for £25. But then I was really into 80s metal.

I think it is, but then I like most of the bands that it features. It was worth it just for the Dio, Scorpions, Quiet Riot, Skid Row, Poison etc songs.

Must say I'm excited about GH3 : Legends of Rock though.

GH3 should be good, but Rock Band looks amazing, I will be getting both, but I still need to build up my skills on GH2.

How is it a game, what do you have to do?

You have the guitar in hand which has a bar that you strum and 5 buttons on the neck to act as the strings you hold down, then basically you strum and hit the buttons as they come down the screen towards you, starting on easy with a slow speed and only 3 of the 5 buttons to use, all the way through to expert mode which uses all 5 buttons and involves playing pretty much every note in the song and a lot of skill.

Doesn't sound like much until you play it, but it makes you feel like a total rock god and is one of the most compelling games I've played in such a long time.

Rock band looks awesome, especially being able to have form bands over the internet.

Got the Xbox360 version for £54 from Tesco.

Fantastic, but I have to fight the Mrs for a go.
Really, really addictive, and you feel like a total Rock God when you get it right! Especially when you kick in the Star Power smokin

Right then picked it up yesterday and played all evening. It is pretty much just GH II with new songs and less extras. Does that matter though? For £25-£30 price is a little steep for what you get but as a GH fan and a big hair rockfan it is essential (I still go to gigs of some of the featured bands) .
So now I'm just going to rock on until I've saved enough pennies for a PS3 and GH3 (hopefully they'll coincide nicely) . thumbup

Great game this, struggling on Hard though, if you look on YouTube theres quite a few people who get 100% on Expert without too much fuss!

Is the 80's rock edition available for the 360?

i've got GH2 and it is amazing, you put in some practice and you do get better, the most fun is naily those narly guitar solos and getting some perfect hammer ons/hammer offs. i've noticed in the verses i play like i should be in status quo, come the solos i need a good 5 metres clear space.

i'm getting GH3 next week and i just know it is going to be a smegging excellent game.

I have been playing Airguitar on the Eye Toy and really want the GH stuff. However, do they do a left-handed version or I will have to play it upside dopwn which would cause another load of skill to master!

there isn't a left handed guiter, but the game does have a "lefy flip" so that you can do a hendrix with it and play it left handed.

i got GH3 deliverd to work today, i now have a shiney wireless gibson les paul sitting under my desk and 4 more hours untill i can play it.

Got it yesterday. It's awesome! (I can't bring myself to put all those crappy stickers on it though).

i'm not going to put stickers on it, it looks good enough as it is. all shiney and black, way better than the guitar i got with GH2.
i'm looking forward to playing knights of cydonia and number of the beast tonight.

it has just dawned on me that i have spent £160 on two games. thats half of what i payed for my 360.

Bastard. I pre-ordered mine but was too late, didn't get the release stock so will have to wait until more stock comes in, hopefully soon.
Noway am I paying shop prices for it either! frown

Before I buy - any recommendation for GHIII on a PS2 vs. a Wii? Someone in the office alleges that the Wii version is mono?

thanks,
