Yeah...

Spend £400 upgrading my PC and playing random people I don't know, or stick with the trusty XBox and have ridiculously easy online matchups with my good mates who all own the white box of goodness...

It's a tough choice and I will need to spend some time mulling that one over.

Yeah it's out 9th November, same day as the 360 version, I do agree with you, much prefer a mouse and keyboard for FPS games, but I think the last game I played on my PC was HL2: Episode 1 when it first appeared, now it just gets used as a download station, for internet browsing and sexual relief..

Shame really, but I can't justify keeping upgrading the thing every year.

I know it probably will and I hate them for it, I will spend more money than I can afford upgrading for that, then it will be the worlds swankiest porn-station until the next truly killer-app title appears.

hehe

and forget the 400 quid - to get a anywhere decent gaming PC you'll need to spend north of 1000! and then it'll never compete with having a 42" HD plasma... smile

yeah, my home setup for the xbox was 2 grand - which would be one hell of a gaming PC.

However, i doubt it would be a 42" screen on the PC?

And while the PC is multipurpose, so is my home cinema setup wink

I get your point, i just dont agree - i find consoles much better for playing games than PC's. (cept things like rollercoaster tycoon)

So you play as part of a team of special forces in the present?

I haven't played COD 3, so what sort of style of gameplay will it have. Can you drive vehicles tanks for example. Are you in command of a squad?

dont know, was big into COD2 still am used to be in a clan but found it a bit lame. still play quite a bit. played CoD3 on xbox but as said before i hate playing FPS on a console.

hopefully the single player on Cod4 is a bit more fun, tactical kind of approach would be good.

oh and bout the tv, no dont have a 42" for the computer but tbh wouldnt want one. ive hooked mine up to a 32" and because of the distance you tend to sit from your pc compared with a console its horrible. hurt my eyes. had to move my head to see enemys lol.

got a 19" screen and that is big enough for me IMO only bigger i would go would be for a widescreen to watch films on.

From what i've gathered watching a couple of vids, the single player story spans a couple of decades from the 80's through to present day. Think you take on the roles of two characters, one an SAS soldier and the other probably American special forces. Story takes place all over the world and actually follows a bit of a storyline this time, rather than just playing out historical battles in a patchwork fashion.

Expect cutting edge weaponry too, I've read about a rocket launcher that you aim at a tank, it then shoots pretty much straight into the air and then slams down onto it a while later.

Multiplayer I loved for the few games I got to play, loads of little abilities that you earn whilst playing which you can use to customise your character, stuff like being able to draw your pistol after you've been killed in order to exact revenge and various weapon upgrades and unlocks.

Once it arrives I will probably be playing it over Halo 3, it really was that good.

Joint Ops escalation had a similiar tank busting weapon, infact, this game doesnt sound much different in terms of gameplay.

oh yeah forgot about that side of things in my argument against FPS consoles.
