I tried the demo didn't like it, but I found the same with Forza to start and the full version rocks, it's on the list to get as others seem to be enjoying it smile

Depends what you're looking for.

It's an out-and-out arcade racer, so don't buy it expecting something like Forza 2 as they're very different games.

It's probably more accessible to the casual gamer than Forza but won't hold your attention for as long.

the handling model isn't a patch on forza's in my opinion, but that doesnt make it a bad game. i took an hour or so to adjust but then i found it very addictive. Bikes can be a bit tricky to master, but not impossible.

if i remember right, in pgr3 you could select a different car for each race, whereas now you have to select a car that will be suitable for a whole tournament (3,4 or 5 races long) so you have to consider what aspects of performance you need i.e. top speed (long tracks), maximum acceleration (short tracks, drifting (twisty kudos tracks), downforce and braking (cone challenge) etc and if you dont get it right you have to wait until "next season" to try again.

i havent had time to try arcade or online modes yet.

It looks quite nice but that wears thin, it's just a crappy arcade racer, Talking of which has anybody downloaded the need for speed demo?

Yes, it's a crappy arcade racer, but very very nice graphics - particularly the cars. They look very realistic from the back with the rear window glass and headrests being very detailed.

yeah same here... prostreet had the chance of being something awesome, but they've just pretty much nailed the NFS series coffin tightly shut with it...

Ok, so now we know to ignore the comments about PGR4 as you clearly have the taste of a tongue-less dog.

Hey, you know very well a dog with a tongue has no taste either.

Gotham is still dull.

I borrowed a mates copy of pgr4 and was pretty dissapointed. It really isnt a step forward from pgr3. If you have pgr3 then avoid it, otherwise its ok.

Could have been great but isnt.

I like the weather effects and sounds but don't like the presentation, the circuits, the handling, the daft anti-gravity jumps and the cones.

It conveys a sense of speed better than any other racing game on the 360, bar Burnout. When doing 150mph in Forza you might as well be walking for all the visual sensation you get, hacking round the tight courses however in PGR4 there is a much better feel of the speed you're doing.

I defy anyone not to smile as they put in stabs of opposite lock whilst hooning a Yellowbird round Quebec, as the kudos ramps up and you're inches from smacking into the barrier.

To say that you preferred the indentikit levels on the NFS demo and enjoyed the totally vague steering feel and poor feedback really demonstrates as I attempted to state earlier that you really don't know what you're talking about.

I find it aesthetically pleasing and an improvement over PGR3. However the handling seems to have changed a lot from PGR3. I've not driven any of the uber quick cars but mainly B-Class and below. All of which wanted to understeer (a lot) before a hint of oversteer. Only got the game two days ago so I need to test a few other cars but I'm not really that impressed sadly. I have been a fan of the series from the MSR days.

Really don't know where you're getting the understeer from, most of the cars I've driven, bar a couple of 4WD ones in the early groups like the Syclone have all had plenty of oversteer on tap. Braking on entry to the corner, then a bit of gas and the back comes out, or for more dramatic effect, dab of the brake and then fling it in with a quick yank of the handbrake and ride it out under power.

Try out the RUF CTR Yellowbird in group C.
