Well, it's working.

1650x1080 res, no fsaa or aniso, settings all on high (won't allow max for me for some reason) and
it's not 100% smooth like other games!
It's not bad though, just not mega silky.

Core 2 duo @ 3 gig
8800 GTX
4 gig ram

I notice there are new beta Nvidia drivers too which it suggests are good for this game, so may try them later.

The intro alone makes you want this game so badly btw.It plays very nice too. This is Far Cry with knobs on and then some!
Looks like the GTX is showing it's age now though lol.

EDIT..just read you need Vista to play in DX10 Very High mode!

Similar for me.

I get some very minor jerkyness as well at 1650x1080 with DX10 in very high.

Vista
Q6600 @ 3.4ghz
8800GTX (768)
4gb

I'm finding myself playing Team Fortress two right now, because it's such damn good fun!

Did you use the auto setting on graphics or just try to run it at your normal settings and levels?

I let it set the levels and had no jerkiness at all although at lower overall settings. I do have a 512mb 7800 Nvidia card, but only powered by a 2ghz AMD. So it certainly wasn't maxxed out.

I normally change the levels to my monitor's default resolution (1650x1080) as most games don't set it like that when they first start, I then just select the highests levels possible for the game (just because I can).

I should be able to play Crysis on it's maximum settings.

As i said earlier, i can't select the very high settings, but apparently it's not that much different to high.
In fact it is still supposed to look quite nice on the lower settings too.
Anyway, i installed the new Nvidia drivers and got back a wee bit of smoothness. It is deffo playable
all on high at 1650x1080 for me, it just has the odd moment of non silky smoothness, but not enough to
worry about really.
FSAA kills it stone dead though.Even x2 makes it lose shed loads of FPS.Aniso also took its toll.

I am just waiting for the friends of the earth type people to step in and ask for this to be banned now, seeing
as i just shot down around 30 trees biggrin

Agree with the resolution thingy and default settings too. Most of my games default to 1024 yet play perfectly
at 1650x1080, so i too always have to turn that option up.

I think I've found a bug with the demo. It keeps crashing if try to load up a previous save game position, but not the latest one, I try to load up the one previous to the last and it crashes. Still it's a pre-release demo, time for things to be fixed.

Working but only did the 3rd time I tried. Although had I known how short the demo is I wouldn't have stopped earlier and saved it off. smile

Thanks for the link, I downloaded it yesterday and it plays and looks great! I was very pleased to see that the auto settings put everything on full regarding graphic detail. (E6750, 2GB RAM, 8800GTX, 2x 500GB HDDs in a HTPC case) Even at only 1280x786 on the plasma screen it looks lush.

One to buy for sure.

I've downloaded this and gave it a play. Seems good, very graphics rich.

My question is...I've herd it's going to be more of a single player game as oppose to a great multiplayer game, is this true?

I was horrified (but not entirely surprised) that 2 7800GTX's and an FX-60 with 2Gb RAM = LOW settings all round, even only on 1280*800.
Bum. New pc time. Or maybe a couple of 8800 Utlras.
However, this game really really rocks! well worth the two+ years waiting for!
Maximum strength - punch some Koreans head through his bottom, maximum speed, run round behind his mates, maximum strength, introduce Mr.teeth to Mr.colon; superb!

The new Nvidia GT cards should be landing right about now.
£150 to £190 it seems and are almost as good as a GTX up to a 1680x1050 res!
You could even get 2 in SLI for the price of one GTX!

(typical really, i wait 20 years to upgrade and this happens the day i buy my GTX) : p

I've got a Core 2 Quad @ 3.4Ghz, 2GB of RAM and an 8800GTS and it was a bit jerky on auto settings (which set everything to high). I will try the beta drivers as I know that can make a huge difference (based on experience with World in Conflict which ran at half speed with all the effects mucked up if you used earlier drivers).

Eye candy aside it is quite a fun game to play. I think I spent 10 minutes just cutting down tree with the mounted machine gun!

It really is typical. I just spent £230 on a GTS a month ago!

Yep, paid £310 for my GTX about 10 weeks ago, maybe 12... and now these come out.

There were some selling on Dabs yesterday morning for £139.99 afaik, as my mate sent me the link and when I looked they had gone upto £179.99!?

Either way, it's a bit gutting, as I run 1600x1200 native so the GTX was overkill in a way frown

Hey ho, PC's are always loosing hand over fist. In 4 months no doubt something better will come out and the GT buyers will be kicking themselves hehe I hope smile
