Remeber these?

The demo Lander first appeared on the Acorn Archimedes to shopfront the capabilities of the computer and wow it blew us young-un's socks off. Then it graduated to a full game and went cross platform.

Anyway, I've been testing a version of it for you all wink found via Wiki:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zarch

and then near the bottom you can download the game, I've been using Windows (Blitz Basic) version 2.

Give it a go!

P.S. BE SURE TO READ THE READ ME! Use F9 and F10 to zoom in and out of the landscape.

Nice. I think I only ever played the Lander Archimedes demo, but we played that a lot (not as much as Lemmings or Tron though)

I particularly remember this "feature":
"While the lander was stationary on the launchpad, moving the mouse (which would normally tilt the attitude of the craft) would cause it to immediately explode"

For most of us it was the first introduction to the mouse which just flipped us out completely!

A few years ago I spent ages trying to find an emulated version of Virus - I had the original on the Amiga and was obsessed with it!

Bookmarked this for the weekend when I have a bit more time.
