So, wheres the best place to buy Assasins creed from?
Play have it at 39.99 - free delivery, but they usually suck at new release deliveries.
I cant remember which website it is send out the games as soon as they recieve stock? can anyone point me to it?
And no, i dont want to buy an asia disc - as i'll probably trade it in sometime!

Main complaint in the reviews seems to be the repetitive element, but I think it has more than enough packed in there to make up for it. Besides, you can break up the repetition by playing something else for a bit.

I was going to use shopto but when I did the pre order they had it at £40.Agree tottaly, seems a bit ironic moaning about repatition with a market swamped with FPS games. Im sure just walking around exploring and taking in the views will keep me ocupied for hours.

Pre-ordered mine on Virgin yesterday - £34 delivered. Lets hope it comes by Friday. Not like COD4 which I pre-ordered a month ago from Choices UK and only arrived yesterday.
Stange thing this pre-ordering lark. Sometimes they arrive on time. Sometimes even earlier, but frustratingly sometimes late!

looks good but they say its repetitive and the AI are pretty stupid.
the monk thing looks abit pathetic aswell but if i play it in stages and just dont do the monk thing should be good fun.
the graphics look amasing and the way you can climb anywhere top notch.

They still gave it a score of 9.1 though. I'm happy to give it a whirl and make up my own mind.

As for my thoughts on the game, here is what I put up on another forum:
Ok, I've put a couple of hours in on it now and feel ready to comment, it really is breathtaking visually, the first time you set foot in Damascus and wander amongst the crowds, accidentally bumping into someone and sending the pot on their head crashing to the ground really makes you feel like you're in a living-breathing city. Then you ascend a nearby tower and synchronise your map, the sheer scale of the city is mindblowing, can't wait to see GTA:IV now as I know the system is easily capable of searing my eyes out of their sockets.
Combat is good fun, you get surrounded by enemies but can hold down the block button and fend off any attack from in front, it's enemies behind you need to worry about, they start you off Metroid-style with all your equipment and then take it away within the first few minutes, so you get a taster of what you're capable of, but then you're quickly relegated to just having your sword and hidden blade, without the capability to counterattack or chain together many moves into a combo.
The free-running aspect is a delight too, climbing up almost anything, clinging to handholds and then taking shortcuts through the city via the rooftops, making impossible leaps and then clinging on to a tiny handhold via your fingertips.
I can see the complaints about it being repetitive, am in the first city and about to do the assassination, but wanted to complete all the side-tasks first which are all pretty samey, but saving someone from a bunch of bullying guards is always enjoyable, wandering up to a guard and then slipping your hidden blade into his throat before going all Errol Flynn on his colleagues is great.
Will need to play more to see if it truly gets tiring with all the repetition, but the cities and landscape outside are so beautiful that it's fun to just mess around.
I would say that if you enjoyed Crackdown then there is more than enough here to hold your attention as Crackdown wasn't exactly short in the repetition stakes itself.
