Can you play online for free?

Hello all,

I'm getting an Xbox 360 Premium Pack in a few weeks time, and was wondering if i can play online for free instead of paying yearly.

So the question is, can i play online for free? Or do i have to pay a yearly charge?

You get a free month with a new machine, and they have the odd free week but that's it.

Otherwise get a PC, plenty of online games and they're nearly all free.

Another thing, in most games you get 24 or 48 hour scratch card things and depending where you buy your games you can get deals on gold subscription, when I got FEAR from pcworld online I got the gold membership for £24

There is some free connection service that was posted on here a while back, thought I do not know if it works.

ETA: 360 without live gold is good, but with gold is much better IMO

Buy a PC, then get Team Fortress 2.....most fun ever!!! Free online too and you get the game bundled with a ton of other stuff in the halflife 2 set....35 quid for 4 games, two of which are top titles and only just out!

Play.com are doing 13 months Live for about £35 at the moment. Or you can pay £4.99 per month.

there are hundreds of thousands of people paying for it across teh country so its obviously worth it mate Try playing something like gears of war online during your free month and then try to give it up. Impossible i reckon!

You can get free loggin's each month as I discovered after getting ripped off by some punk on fleabay.

Create a new user name each month but you'll need a new email address & make up a fake home address log in you get 1 month free gold membership. In doing this however you'll loose all your gamer points & awards so you'll never move up the ranks. If your happy for it to be like that then carry on it'll just make it difficult to join in games with people you know as you'll have a different name each month.
