Xbox360 Games disappointment?

For several months now I have been looking forward to a glut of eagerly anticipated titles on the run up to Christmas. However, one by one they appear to be falling by the wayside. Two of which are Kane & Lynch Dead Men & Blacksite Area 51, which have both received very mediocre reviews and have been crossed off my list.
Anyone else starting to feel the same way?

Looks like Assassins Creed hasn't lived up to the hype. I'm waiting for Army of Two now, and then GTA4 after that, both been pushed back to next year though

Mass Effet will live up to the hype. As did Bioshock.

IMO Halo 3 has been my bigest letdown of the gaming decade.

Was looking forward to Assasins creed, but the AI sounds woefull so I'm not bothering.

Get Call of Duty 4, its immense. A lot better than Halo 3.

I'm thinking of trading in my Halo copy.

I did enjoy Halo 3 particularly the sense of achievement of finishing it entirely on my own on legendary. However since then I've not turned it back on at all so I guess it was a let down!

Just playing Orange Box at the moment, which I'm really enjoying.

They are two examples, but there are so many other fantastic ones that your entire argument lacks any punch, Assassin's Creed, whilst not perfect is still breathtaking and more than worthy to belong in anyone's gaming collection, Call of Duty 4 is quite possibly the greatest shooting experience I've played (not played Crisis as I am not prepared to fork out the cost of all my consoles to upgrade my PC in order to play one game), Guitar Hero 3 is amazing as is the soon to be released Rock Band, as mentioned already Orange Box is fantastic value and worthy of your time.

There are so many good titles out for it at the moment that I'm struggling to find the time to play them all. When so many titles are released there are bound to be a few bad apples though.

ive played Assasins creed a fair amount and find the AI fine...

though i thought Bioshock didnt live up to the hype!

Its all down to user preference, there will always be someone who expected too much or didnt like the colours or AI. Surely a Review cant make your decision on a game! try it for yourself before you cross it off

Call of duty 4 was an unexpected hit for me as it wasnt even on my radar at all, I dont play realistic shooters, I prefer halo etc.

I HATED Advanced warfighter, stupid teammates and complicated controls.

But call of duty 4 is fantastic, I completed the single player mission in one sitting as I just could'nt put it down! Live on COD4 is a bit of a hit and miss though, VERY unforgiving, it turns into a game of who sees who first, not very fun. Where as on H3 you have time to fight back.

Looking forward to unwrapping GHIII on christmas day!!

I think I prefer COD4 for those reasons, in Halo 3 if you say enter a base with 3 enemies in then you'll get one and your shields will be so low that the second will only have to throw a mars bar at you and you're dead, yet numerous times on COD4 online I've run into a building and totally cleared it of enemy players before they've realised what's happening, especially the campy snipers who pay no attention to what's going on behind them.

So, I have saved sufficient pennies to buy me a new game this weekend. COD4 or Assassin's...?

I've done Gears, R6, Halo and also Darkness and have Bioshock sitting on the shelf to play. Choices, choices...

(whichever one I don't buy, I'm sure Santa will bring me...)

I thought BioShock was wonderful, and was not on my radar.

Not played CoD4 yet - no time.

Mass effect on order.

Halo3 is intended for a very different audience than "realistic" shooters. I much prefer the "one shot - dead" approach. I've lost count of the number of times I've jumped a couple of guys cold and because they've got 2 guns to my one, I still die.

COD4! Lots of replay value in the multiplayer game, once you get used to the fact 1 or 2 bullets equals instant death and adjust your style accordingly its very good (You need to be less gung-ho and a bit more tactical).

I've got Assasins too and do recomend it. No it's not perfect (learn the timing of counte attacks correctly and you are virtually unstopable in a fight, even against 7 or 8 enemys) but it is so wonderfully detailed and gracefull. First game I've bought for a while that I enjoy playing without doing any of the missions (the game allows you to decide when to start the missions proper, the rest of the time you can just explore, do sub missions etc).
And there is something very pleasing when you manage to cross a city in one continuos run without touching the floor once, just leaping and running gracefully from roof top to roof top.
The living citys are superb as well, the way joe public react to your actions always raises a smile. For example climb up the side of a building in a busy street and you will hear all kinds of seemingly random comments from the crowd ranging from "cor look at im go" to "Well if that idiot falls i ain't 'elpin im"

Haven't played COD4 but have heard the multiplayer experience whilst brilliant can be very flawed (Very realistic weapon damage for example). Might still get a copy if the GOW league decide its the next port of call

Having a read of the Mass Effect reviews on IGN and Gamespot, it does seem the game has its fair share of issues and glitches. Quite annoying, I was very much looking forward to it. Still going to get it, although doesn't sound as well developed as it could have been.

I think a lot of the issues are down to it being on one disc and MS not shipping hard drives as standard, so they can't stream from the hard drive, sounds like you've got to expect elevator trips to take a loooong time whilst it loads the next area.

To be fair though, considering the sheer size of it and amount your supposed to be able to do in Mass Effect I was expecting there to be a glitch or two here and there.

As long as it's nothing major that ruins the playability I'll still be picking that one up.

Ive got COD4 and Assassins Creed, COD4 is absolutely brilliant but like Halo3 I found it a bit short.

Assassins Creed makes a really refreshing change from shooting or racing and should be bought for that reason alone! Its far from perfect with occasional glitches and repetitive tasks. Although the sub plots for each area of the city only consist of a few activities which are then flogged to death. Im finding ticking them off the map hugely addictive and fun! yes fun! The design team have done an amazing job with this game, the character models, environments and animations are second to none. The programmers seam to have struggled to match them though. I wouldnt be surprised if there was a lot more variety in missions being planned but because of time and budget some elements had to be dropped. The sequel, which will surely follow should be amazing.
