Xbox Live Movie Rentals

Marketplace movie rentals was launched today in the UK and I hadn't noticed a thread on this yet. Has anybody tried it? I'll be downloading something in HD for tomorrow night. Limited choice at the moment but hopefully we'll catch up with the American list which has a good selection. Here's what is currently available;

You get 14 days to view it, but you will only get 24hours after its first play before it expires (you can view it more than once within this 24 hours)

I tried it earlier and it wouldn't download for me, even though the points left my account.

Just a thought, but if an xbox live HD film is about £3 and we pay about £25 for 30gb per month broadband. I suppose a HD film is what 5 to 10gb perhaps more. If you can only watch it once you'd surely be better off buying the HDDVD!!

And you're always better off not renting a film from Blockbuster, when it comes out, and you want to see it, but waiting 5 years for it to pop up in the bargain bin in Asda.


I think it's cool, except my HDD is too small, and the service was bricked last night. I couldn't even log in to Live.

Might try it over Christmas.
