Well I got an amazing deal on a brand new PS3 40Gb £172 with Motorstorm & Resistance fall of man its only 4 days ld and Ive played it for 2hours max.

Im seriously thinking I should chop it in for the xbox360 Elite then get Halo 3, Gears of War, Forza 2, PG3 & 4, Mass effect, etc.

The sixaxis controller is ok but no rumble function, the online well yes its free but noone in those 2hrs was online whereas on xbox live when Ive played it its been simple to get a game.

So views should I change it now, also remember the sole reason I bought it was the amazing cheap price - an online pricing error by littlewoods direct should have been £330 and was changed to that 20 mins after I bought it :-()

Yes, the 360 is better than the PS3 at the moment, people say the PS3 is 'more powerful' than the 360 but I'm yet to see anything to prove this. After all, its the games that make a console really.

I dont YET have a games consol, but i will be getting an elite after christmas.

The game selection was just one of the reasons il be getting it, along with the amount of people on live.

The 3 year warrenty made me forget about the 3 red lights of death.

ALTHOUGH:
1-2 years i think the ps3 would have got to the level the xbox has.

Thats it really.

to this date and for the next year the 360 will rule the gaming industry, 2 years on the ps3 will take the lead with developers being able to drive games futher with the power of the ps3. and who knows, the new xbox xould be on its way then!

Just called Game & Gamestation and they offer a trade in for the PS3 (4 days old) and Motorstorm & Resistance fall of man £185.

Or if its a cash trade in then they will pay £113!

I think ebay would be a much much better place to sell one.

When I bought the PS2 I traded it in against an xbox 4 weeks after buying it as it was weak in comparison to the xbox. And seven years on the xbox still rules, the controller is far worse on the PS3 and and GT HD free downloaded game is not a patch on Forza 1 or on TOCA 2.

That said the graphics are stunning.
I think maybe I should hold onto it for a while and maybe buy the xbox360 elite as well (or just the 20Gb version). Best of both worlds & I'd assume I could sell mine for £260 + any day of the week??

I think it will be longer than that IMHO. Remember the xbox came out in 2000 and that ruled until 2005 and microsoft didnt make a penny on it and so far they have made nothing on the 360.

Microsoft have stated that the life of the 360 will far exceed that of the original, no one but wishfull thinking ps3 owners are saying otherwise. The reason the xbox original lasted as short as it did was because of the PS2, not because microsoft think its funny to produce and obselete consoles in 4 year cycles.

Whats this "power of the ps3" your talking about, it sounds like something straight out of sony PR. The cell is sod all use for gaming since most cpu intensive stuff in games is highly branched and data-dependant, the exact opposite of what the cell is good at.

at the price you paid, you could hang onto it for the Blu-Ray - or if your serious about selling, send me a mail with how much your thinking of and where you are?

Think I agree with the above.

Looking ahead on the PS3 what games are there coming? GT Prologue 5, then ummm

There is no Halo match, no gears of war match, no bioshock match, no Forza2 match no PG4 match, online capability match.....weak.

Maybe its a grass is greener issue & so few people have PS3's.

360 has the highest attach rate, meaning more owners are buying games. People buy a wii, with wii-sports and get bored of it a week later.

I'd hang on to it, the PS3 will be on the up next year as devs get to grips with its complicated (yet powerful) chipset and there is a rumble controller out early next year.

The online will vary from game to game, buts its getting better with time. The big games will be coming out next year so i'd keep it.

The Xbox 360 has suffered from a high failure rate, but MS are introducing a new 65nm chipset soon which solves this problem.

Could you tell me which PS games will be similar to Halo3/Forza2/Gears of War/Mass Effect?

Ive heard that Unreal championship will be coming out which was amazing on the xbox1.
GT 5 - this is a pure simulator whereas Forza2 is more of a game

I think what you meant to say is that to help increase consumer sales this xmas there were holdoffs on stock coming into UK stores meaning everyone goes mad for them when they do arrive - makes them appear like hot pancakes and more people subsequently want one...

I brought 4 wii's back from Germany with me last weekend as people back here in the UK were desperado for them and all their local shops were sold out - to say that the wii is whupping all the competition to me just seems farcical at best, it doesn't seem to sell well at all in mainland Europe where I spend most of my working life these days...

The wii is more of a party tool in my humble opinion - standing waving your arms around in an empty house gets rather boring extremely quickly otherwise smile

No, 2008 as well. The Wii board will be released as well as the Star Wars light sabre game. Think of those what you will, but they will sell the consoles by the truckload.

As for the PS3 - I want one, I buy most gadgets and cool things, but everytime I go to purchase one I just look at the top 10 PS3 games and it turns me off. There just isn't anything available that is any good. Exceptions are possibly Drakes Fortune and RFOM. Not worth paying £350 for IMO. As for blu-ray, I'm happy with my 360 upscaling and really can't be bothered paying £25 for the HD movies.

Surely you can't have 2 years in a row called the year of the Wii though? It would be the years of the Wii...
