I'm on the verge of choosing an x-box 360 and fancy the opportunity of online battles etc.
Does the Elite come with the ability to go online wirelessly or do I need the quite expensive wireless adaptor?
Game have a deal on - 360 elite, extra wireless controller plus Gears of War, Forza 2 and Viva Pinata for £329.99 delivered. Good deal???

No 36 has in built wireless, you'll need MS's ripoff wireless or a cheap wireless bridge, or a cable.

Elite isnt all that, only advantages it has is the larger HDD (mostly useless unless your going to download a lot of vidoe) and its black.

Yes, every 360 can go wireless with the MS USB wireless adaptor.

Some old ones may not offer HDMI but they should be all sold by now anyhow.

Make sure you get a HDD one (20 or 120gig) if you want xbox live arcade games or back compat with old xbox games etc. I strongly advise not going for a core/arcade.

Thanks Rob,
It'll be either the Elite or the one below.

Yep, normally £59.99

I just bought one and managed to find an offer at HMV, £10 off when you buy any game but it's still not cheap!

An alternative is to put your wireless router next to the Xbox and use a £2 ethernet cable.

If you are thinking of getting an Elite, it might be worth waiting for Bill Gates' keynote on Sunday, as the Ultimate may drop soon:

I got an elite in HMV today for 299 quid including any game. By getting the (free) game (Call of Duty 4) it also ment I got a fiver off a second wireless controller. I also got PGR4 and Gears of War on their buy 1 / get 1 free offer, which qualified for a tenner off the thing that connects to the wireless router. Came away a happy chappy
