Wondered if it was better placed in the computer games section.

I've done this before with no problems. I think i used DHCP for both. NAT is what does the magic, it watches internal network addresses and the external ports/addresses they are trying to access, it doesnt matter that 2 machines are connecting to the same external IP (xbox live) as their inbound port is remapped (so the external IP can have 2 connections to your external IP) and the router will then route the traffic to the correct internal IP.

Using both live accounts at the same time?

and does it still work if, say were in a COD4 multiplayer, and both xboxs are in the game?

(my brother wants in on the COD4 action!)

Yup, 2 independant accounts, 2 xboxs. We could either join the same game or go off and play seperate ones.

Have you tried yourself already ?

Should be fine, as long as your both not on the same IP smile

I had no connection problems or configuration headaches with mine.

It appears the new Xboxs get shipped with a shorter RJ45 lead - so it will be a while before both machines can be tested simultaneously

Just an update:

I bought 2 Cat5 UTP Cables (10m) from Toolstation for £2.50 each or something - bargain.

Plugged both in, both on DHCP and they worked fine, even whilst playing in the same game.

All on a 2mb Tiscali line too.
