I enjoyed the last Burnout game for the 360 I think it was rivals or something?

But this one seems to be cashing in and stealing alot of the ideas of test drive unlimited. I can't see myself enjoying this one the same, and that DJ is a bellend!! (I know you can switch him off)

Somebody on COD online told me it had gone the way of the Need For Speed series so it really put me off getting it.

Burnout just doesn't seem like a game that I'd want to be free roam.

Also don't like the fact that if you bum out of a race, you can't restart, you've got to drive all the way back there.

I only got this today - enjoying it so far, though slightly irritated you cant restart a race, or try again if you lose...

but hey, other than that, its great, love the soundtrack..

does online races count towards your licenses or is it just the single player that does? tempted to venture online..

I rented this the other day and glad I did instead of just buying it. Wasn't overly amazed with the game and found it rather tideous after a while, dont get me wrong it is a great game, looks fantastic, great soundtrack etc but just lacks in the long term entertainment department. On the plus side I loved the arcadey quick drive and smash feeling to it, also liked the sandbox idea, worked great with Burnout.

But hey, just my opinion!

yeah, but thats what ive always liked about burnout - its something you can pick up and put down very easily...

Just been online - as far as i can tell, its like a sandbox, you join a 'room' and drive around (have stats who does best at drifts etc as you do) until the host starts a race, then you all jump into race mode (With a chance to change your car).. and once thats over, back into the sandbox.

There appears to be challenges as well, such as achieving certain things at a specific point (i.e. barrel roll at the beach).

Fidgits - just got it too - maybe catch up online sometime for some legitimate carnage (unlike our Forza forays hehe )

I have to admit, that is one of the things i like about burnout...

It actually encorages you to ram your opponents off the road hehe

I should be about tonight if you fancy some online mischief?

Doh! Was playing, but first foray with it so thought it best to learn the ropes smile Will be on over the weekend I expect.

Great fun and some of the crashes definitely had me wincing! The slow-mo car deformation is quite convincing I thought smile

It's crap.

Bought it last night at Asda and it's on Ebay already.

It was interesting for about an hour....very disappointing.

On a plus note though, whilst at Asda I managed to pick up a Wii, which are still like hens teeth round here.
See how long it takes to get that Ebayed!

But i have to admit i do like the idea if ramming other players off the road and i did enjoy the ps2 version as the other half actully picked up a contoller [shock horror]so when it arrives i'll be on the look out for a few phers to have a crash fest withsmile

I was a big fan of the PS2 version as well but have heard bad things about this one so am waiting till it drops a lot in price.

Think the sandbox idea is a bad step for Burnout. Could be wrong though.
