I'm sure quite a few people do, but most have moved onto Halo 3 (and then COD4).

i'd love to go to halo 3 but im not in the position to buy a 360 at the mo (im still pennyless after xmas).

im thinking of getting B'Band at home and wondered if it was worth the extra bit of ethernet cable?

do you need xbox live with the old xbox?
if so how much is it?

Yeah it'll cost about £45 for the year from Microsoft, but shop around and you can knock it down to £30 or less by buying a subscription card.

There will still be thousands of people playing Halo 2, so if you enjoy the multiplayer then you will find plenty of people to play against.

It is a slippery slope though and you'll find that as soon as you can afford to you'll be buying a 360 (which you can transfer your Live subscription to) and playing Halo 3.

You can play Halo 2 for free on-line www.xboxconnect.com however, people cheat and there's only a couple of hundred people on it during the day, the yanks and Frenchies sort that out in the eve.


ETA: no ranking either and they all seem to play the same couple of levels unless you set your own game up but then you might wait for ages before you get a crowd.

You can get it by plugging your XBox into the Broadband connection via an Ethernet cable, MS will then try to sign you up for it, but will cost you more that way, if you fancy shopping on ebay you'll probably get it cheaper there, but run the usual ebay risks, or you could buy it from play.com or somewhere similar as they often have offers on.

You're after a 12 month XBox Live Subscription, although you can buy 3 month ones too, you might also find that certain people on here have free 48 hour trials which they can give you so you can get a taste and see if you like it.
