Any good games coming up? Been playing TF2 after doing HL2EP2 and Portal.
Also done Crysis, FEAR, Bioshock, Oblivion and Timeshift recently.

You can see what type of games I go in for. Have also done the GTA games on the console.

Any recommendations?

Assassin's Creed, Tom Clancy's Rainbox Six Vegas 2 and Turok in March (allegedly).

Oh and I've only just bought FEAR, got it and Battlefield 1942 (with all the extras, Road to Rome and Secret Weapons) all for £15.

Don't buy Assasins creed. It's a very dull, repetative and boring game, after the initial novelty wares off.

Battlefield 2 with POE mod. Battlefield 2142

Assassins Creed is one of those marmite games, if you love freedom, exploring around, arsing about in games etc then you'll probably like it smile Weren't they adding additional content for the PC version anyway?

The BF series games are great tho (except Vietnam maybe).

BF2 is the best of the BF series imho.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 is good and Vegas 2 is out in a month or so and might be worth a look.

Buy one now and get Resistance:Fall of Man, as you seem to like FPS's.

As a PC gamer, I also got this:-
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Splitfish-PS3-fragfx108w-F...

Which eases the transition to PS3 nicely. I hadn't used a console controller in years, and it was a painful experience. If you're predominantly a PC gamer, I'd say this controller in itself makes the PS3 a much better proposition than an XBOX - there doesn't seem to be an XBOX version of it.
As for people who say something like this is cheating, it really isn't - you're limited to the same turn rates as a standard controller so someone good with a sixaxis will be as good as a good PC gamer using the FragFX.

You can also get Haze, Turning point, and a few other FPS's at the moment, MGS4 and Resistance 2 (which looks pretty impressive even by PC standards) are due out later this year.
I'm begining to value the PS3 more the more I play it; I really only bought it as a media server, but I'm begining to see the attraction now of the games now.

Well...

I installed DOSBoX not long ago so I could run Ultima Underworld I+II and Dungeon Master. I had totally forgotten about the mainstream Ultimas!

To anyone that likes 1st person perspective 3D games, but who prefers stealth to endless filling things with lead, investigate the Thief series. They should be available for peanuts now but have fantastic plots.
