Hi all I`m a gaming novice so thought I`d ask in the right place.
Looking to improve my chances of actually making it around the Nurburgring without turning left instead of right.
What`s the best piece of kit to buy to achieve that goal.
Can you get steering wheel and pedal accessories, and where is the best place to buy.
Sorry if the questions are a little basic but I`m an old fa*t smile

Have you got a PS3 or is that just an idea? Cheap option would be an old school xbox and a pgr game.

Nah the most realistic option will be to get yourself a secondhand PS2 and a copy of Gran Turismo 4. Out of all the recreations out there, it's probably the most accurate.

I don't think the PS2 version accurately recreates the gradients, or how narrow the track really is in some places.

Most platforms have this track available now - the xbox 360 has it in Project Gotham, the PC has it in rFactor. I don't know if the PS3 has it yet but it will when GranTurismo 5 comes out, and that will probably be a great version.

Out of all the options though, a PS2 and GT4 will probably be the cheapest, unless you already have a PC capable of playing rFactor.

Bit of a trade off between GT4 on the playstation and Forza 2 on the xbox.
Physics is better in forza, but the track is more faithfully replicated in GT4

IIRC The Nordschleife is mapped to 50cm accuracy in GT4 (presumably they used DGPS or something). GT4 dynamics may not be as good as Forza, but it's as good a rendition of the circuit as you will get.

Next best thing to being there IMO is to get one of these plus 'G25 Wheel' and a copy of GT4 (PS2 or PS3).

Not a cheap option but after a few months use I can guarantee it's still worth every penny pound (GT5: prologue out soon)!
