Superb fun. I don't think I actually finished any of the races last night, but that airport is brilliant for messing up other peoples' race.

And whilst 'Bert cant drive for st, he's bloody handy with a firearm whilst driving.

sorry for ignoring everybody invites for the past couple of days, (i've been consentrating on doing the story) but i'll be having a crack at multiplayer tonight.

Which console are you lot playing on? Can 360 owners play PS3 ones?

And for that matter, if someone were crazy enough to buy a console just to play GTA4, which should he go for?

360 owners cant play PS3 owners.

Go for the 360 version, GTA multiplayer is more fun with PH chums (looks like it will be very popular) and besides, everyone has a 360 (I have a ps3 incidentally, used to have a 360).

There are tiny differences between the two, exceedingly minor, and microsoft paid Rockstar $50m to develop some "exclusive" content, so the 360 is the machine to go for unless like some you are buying 2 copies, one for each machine...

Good call.

There's also the minor consideration that the base 360 is only about £150 whereas entry into PS3 ownership is closer to £300.

Also, a comparison of the two suggests the 360 is better, visually;

I'm stupid enough to own both consoles and have GTA for both - if I had to keep one of them it would be the 360 version purely for the online play. On the PS3 I've found very few people have headsets and it kind of defeats the point when you can't talk to each other. Aside from that they aren't much different.
