what in your opinion is? Mine is the original gran turismo, simply because it was unlike anything else at the time, collecting cars and just racing them, great fun!

HL2 is a cracking single player FPS.

If I had to pick one game and one game only to play, it'd be World of Warcraft though...

Grand Prix Legends for me. I had no other game installed on my hard drive from 1998-2001, and I drove it most days.

Absolutely true! yes
The joy I had in buying Zelda: Ocarina of Time has never been matched for me. Epic game, fantastic console and a real push on the boundaries of what could be done at the time. Games nowadays are fun, but not a patch on those of the N64 era!
Perfect Dark and Goldeneye weren't half bad eitherwink

goldeneye was great! zelda was just amazing though, the story telling, the massive game world, the design of the puzzles, everything was perfect. The way the sun rose and set was amazing at the time too.Shigeru Miyamoto is a genius.

I still remember the demand for the game being intense and when I got my copy for christmas it wasnt like just getting another game, I knew I had just got an experience in a cartridge. It didnt dissapoint.

Doom 2: Hell on Earth. Only men could finish it on Ultra-Violence without the cheats.

I, of course did so. About 5 times....

Grand Prix Legends without doubt. I spent literally years trying to beat Jim Clarks laptime at Monza, even had a telementary program which took replay data and showed exact braking points etcpaperbag

Wasted days of my life on John Madden Football for the Megadrive. The original Gran Turismo and Gran Turismo 2 were also favourites.

Hard to say, so many genres. In terms of time dedicated to them, for me it has to be
Dune2/C+C and red alert. Not the single player stuff on red alert, but tweaked ini file coop games

Then there was counter strike (before it became a cheat infested scum fest)

Turismo

Tomb raider in its first 3D accelerated patch mode - no more lego vision

GPL - purchased this when first released, got in the ferrari, called a mate on the phone, cranked up the volume,
said "listen to this" and he too purchased it based on the sound alone.

Mario on N64

..aww just too many to list tbh.

agree, this was probably one of the first games that sucked my life away as soon as i got home from school every day for weeks if not months!

other games up there as already mentioned are;
Resident Evil,
Gran Turismo,
GTA Vice City,
Counter Strike,
Gears of War!!!
