Just noticed that Amazon have shipped me a copy out in the post, free delivery though so might not be here for a while. Forgot i had ordered it from back in march at £34.99. Any one know what its like?

Think it is released tomorrow.

You think that's bad? I bought a PS3 on launch day last year just for this game, expecting it last year, so it has sat there with a meagre diet of just two games up until now.

I'm into the second act and it's very good so far, have yet to trip an alarm or kill anyone.

Seems that it installs another part after every act, is a shorter install though, so instead of 8 minutes it will only be 3, not sure what the load times will be for the other acts.

It's a good game, definitely - but I'm not sold on the whole thing, I never really got into the other MGS games however, so that's probably where I'm going wrong...

I will admit tho, it's a hell of a showcase title for the PS3! I do like it, but I think I'll need to do some intensive playing to get the bug!

I'm not sure you will get the bug. Metal Gear is definitely a Marmite game and this has been designed for those people who really love Marmite and know the entire history of Marmite inside out.

I know what you're saying - we'll see... I'm gonna give it another hour before bed though. As I say I *am* enjoying the game, but I'm not one of the people who knows otacon's phone number by heart, and all the variant incarnations of Snake!

Still, we're all here to have fun aren't we - and yomping round dressed as a cardboard box never gets old!! biggrin

It is gonna be a loooong game, the Edge review said that the later cut scenes are up to 90 minutes in length, interspersed with small sections of gameplay. Sounds like classic Metal Gear to me.

I think the gameplay is secondary to the story on this one for me, I just really want to see how it all wraps up.

Big chunk of the way through the second episode now and one of the bosses has revealed themselves to me, but I've yet to get into an actual boss fight.

The default one I think, Solid Normal, not the bottom one but the one above.

I can't be too far from the boss fight, but won't get a chance until I get home later, going to go for no kills if at all possible, so might make things a lot tougher having to finish the bosses off with my tranquilizing pea-shooter.

You'll get slaughtered if you try that, took me ages with a gun and not tryed the online yet as the story is fantastic, it's like a game/movie.

I have a few stun grenades/mines and there's always a method to these bosses, I'll work something out, not going to give in and start killing them, all the goodies like the End's Ghilli suit in Snake Eater were gained by not killing them.
