So I got a wireless router and everything set up and can play on line (although seem to get patchy connectivity when trying Continental races frown)

But my biggest problem is that I am unable to join any of my friends on line simply getting the error code 86420.....every time.....this also seems to mean I get disconnected frequently when playing Worldwide races too frown

I have turned the firewall off, and disabled the SPI but the problems still persist.

Have tried some online forums to no avail and e-mails to Nintendo go unanswered frown

Any thoughts ?

So you've exchanged both your normal friend codes and Mario Kart friend codes (in that frankly ridiculous Nintendo fashion)?

Otherwise it just sounds like you're not getting a great signal to the Wii and it's dropping out a lot.

If it's that patchy then I think you can buy a wired adaptor for the Wii to allow you to run it via a network cable, might be worth a try.

Yep exchanged the friends code with several friends and all works OK - they can join me but not the other way round.

The connection strength is excellent and the net on the computer (running off the same wireless router) never drops out.

Might have to think about a wired connection but running through 3 different rooms to the router is a bit of a pain frown
