Civ on the 360

I've seen Civlisation has come onto the Xbox 360...

I used to love these games on the PC - has anyone played the 360 version? any comments?

It has been mentioned on a couple of recent threats and has been well-received, Fidg.

I'm another Civaholic in previous (ST, Amiga, PC) incarnations but with a 10 week old daughter severely limiting my gaming time I'm reluctant to buy it for the 360!!

I've been playing it for ages, great fun.
Never really played a pc version but from what I understand it's more simple than the PC versions which meant I picked it all up very quickly.

I is alright. If you are used to the PC version you may be a bit disapointed at the bits they have removed to appeal to us console types. A lot of the subtleties have been lost. Looks good and plays well though.

well, i took the plunge and got it.


First impressions were that it was very similar to the PC versions - I really couldn't see what I was getting other than a console version of it.

However, that said, why mess with something that works so well - the first night I ended up sat up till nearly 2am, after playing it for 6 hours solid.

Sure a few things are made a bit simpler, but thats good - the controls work really well, and its hugely fun...

works well on the big TV too!

Been tempted by this myself, not alot out at the moment and bored with most of my old games for now. Not played civ since the original though! I imagine it's moved on a bit since then.

I've stopped playing this now as I need to catch up on sleep, was playing until stupidly late every time I started a game, too addictive.
