After having my 360 sat broken on a shelf at the back of my living room for over a year I decided to get a new one on Saturday, but, before toddling off to Currys to hand over 120 spondoolies I thought i'd give it one last try. Would you 'adam and eve' it but it only bloody worked (after mild palm of the hand based persuasion).

My 360 Premium lost all picture, sound worked, I could hear games load and menu's being scrolled through but no picture. Having no RRoD Xbox wanted to charge me for a fix as it was a month out of warranty but I couldn't be arsed with the hassle. Anyone else got a 'Smart' Xbox then or is it just me? Of course I realise it might decide to throw a wobbly again, but until then I'm catching up on Forza 2 and Oblivion. Just need to renew my Gold subs now to join in the online fun.

Nicesmile

Mine would do the same (for a few days, not a year!) but finally gave the RROD and it was fixed for free.

if you have no red lights of death just wrap it in a towel or two and leave it on for a few days, makes it overheat rather nicely. result - red lights of death!

Hmm, it appears my first post wasn't clear enough. Basically, a year ago my Xbox lost picture, it sat on a shelf until the weekend when I gave it another try before buying a new one. It worked, picture was back, whatever the problem was had been fixed (temporarily no doubt) so now i'm back playing in full colour.

Ahhh i see

Good stuff it is working. Mine did similar though had the RROD a few times, couldn't send it back as it had been, ahem Modfied somewhat. So put the thing away fro 6-12 months. In april took back out of box and worked first time!

Still took it apart again and fixed it properly now.

this may help - it resurrected mine for a while (sound & no pic). Will never buy another 360.
