FC1 was responsible for getting me back into gaming so looking forward to this update.

So long as you're not expecting a continuation of the story or themes of the first game then it looks like you're in for a treat.

XBox 360 for me, so none of the anti-piracy paranoia and nannying that seems to be plaguing the PC of late.

Just played it for a couple hours on my pc, it's okay but can't say it has really blown my mind.

lets just hope that without the same production team they have resisted the urge to include monsters/aliens (which did a good amount to ruin both farcry and crysis)

Anyone any idea if the difficulty settings will work like crysis or just be generic fps bad guys harder to kill and you have no health?

There won't be any monsters this time around.
edit: Until they add in the rumoured patch to include dangerous animals, currently there are only things like Antelopes, but imagine crawling through the bush and being mawled by a Lion, or creeping up on someone through a swamp and a Hippo roars out of the water at you.

And the health looks to be similar to resistance or medal of honor, you get a set number of bars, take a bit of damage to one and it recharges, however lose that one entirely and you'll need an injection or similar to restore it, you can also break bones from falls and get bullet wounds which will need more specific treatment.

Yep, but a lot of people probably received pre orders today.

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews so far - mainly due to the console-esque mouse behaviour on the pc, the respawning enemies and repetitive missions.

cant wait... love the sound of it
its obvious differences from crysis and far cry 1 can only make it a better game

ive read that you mustn't forget to use the buses or alternatively buy some camo so that you can get through the checkpoints easier otherwise it can become a bit tedious

Looks like the PS3 version is the poor relation mad

Was really thinking about buying this, but might not now. Might just wait for Resistance 2 instead.
