XBOX 360- Optical Cable?

I'm on the verge of buying one of the new xbox's with HDMI. One thought thats just come into mind is how will i connect my surround sound? At the moment it just splits from the component cable. I know the PS3 has an optical port for this.

Also is the only advantage of the elite the fact that it comes with the HDMI cable and larger hard drive? And if anyone has upgraded, how long did it take for the migration kit take to arrive from microsoft?

Im thinking about upgrading too, as my 360 is getting tired. Whats this migration kit? never heard of that before?

My migration kit took about 6 weeks.

You can either buy an Official Xbox360 hdmi lead with an optical out (like your current lead) or if your TV has an optical out you could run an optical lead out from there.

Well i keep getting an error message that refers to a hard drive problem. So i thought i might aswell just upgrade to get the better picture quality. I would have to buy the cable i think, can't see an optical out on the tv anywhere.

if you buy the elite you get a little dongle which gives you an optical audio port. If you buy the 60gb one then you can simply pop the plastic casing off the original av cable and it will fit snugly even with the hdmi cable in place.

I've got a VGA cable, just as good as HDMI if you want to save money!
