As if by magic, a thread appears.

Well, I'm being unconventional and heading noth west at the minute. Once I've covered a bit of distance should then be able to turn and sail to the south east.

Looks like a good time to join in, the good ship Jonesey has been slogging away all night into a gale, and now the rest of the PH fleet seems to have apeared right next to me!

Not sure i'll have the staying power for this one though, dread to think how long it's going to take with no break / stopovers! The site seems less user friendy as well compared to the VOR (despite being the same bcensoredy company!)

Can anyone see how to create a group? I'll be spliced over the main brace if I can!

Your right about it being less user friendly, although i'm sure they'll work on it, they've got time!

I think we're going round the bottom of SA again, as there are some buoys there for us to sail through. Does anyone actually know for sure?

Yes. This one is a non-stop around the world race. We go turn left at the Cape of Good Hope at the bottom of Africa & then keep going East until we round Cape Horn & come back up the Atlantic.

I think you're right, down the side of Africa, once around the Southern Ocean (hitting the markers on the way) and then around Cape Horn and back home.

The good ship Bob Bing sails again! This one could be more interesting, presume the gates are to stop us heading too far South for a shorter route, easier than making virtual icebergs I suppose!

I'm losing places hand over fist. Can anyone give me a clue what I'm supposed to be doing? Have a look at Le Singe and tell me which direction you'd be going in.

You're looking OK, I think we're all losing places out in our bit of the ocean, think there's probably a few thousand that headed in to the Spanish shore which is technically 'nearer the finish' distance wise. Once the wind shifts we should start to catch up, provided I can remember to tack / stay awake that long!

That's a fair point, the 'leader' is actually buried down in the corner between France and Spain.

Server is goosed again. Must be everyone getting home from work and logging on.

False alarm on the server. Had the 503 error there briefly, must've got a rope caught round my tiller.

It seems to be working intermittently.

Give it a few weeks, enough people will have got bored to not trouble the servers.

Something else to keep me busy over the next six twelve months.

Ricepilot is the name of my boat if somebody could add me to a group.

Cheers.
