A quick google shows you are indeed correct! laugh

Only played it very briefly, but it gets my vote.

GTA4 is/was great.

Gears2 isn't worth a mention, awful online multiplayer and nowhere near as addictive or interesting as the first one unfortunately. Still a good game though, just short lived.

COD5/ WAW is tripe of the highest order, a backwards step from COD4.

Fallout I haven't played though it looks good.

GT Prologue is pap, even forza 2 has it licked.

Haven't played any of the others though.

Has to be GTA4.

I never tire of diving into a wall just to see the car crumple.

None of the above for me.
I always end up going back to Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 when the novelty of a new release wears off.

GTA4 for me, if I hadn't bought new games recently than I'd probably still be playing it. Second place would go to Fallout 3 with MGS4 in the bronze position.

Has to be MGS 3, its just epic! Not only in its game play but movie cuts which are brilliant and tie everything togther. It is also its downfall that you have to sit through hours of the stuff not knowing if its relevant or not but simply amazing.

GOW2 is another great game but again flawed in its online application.

Havent played many others on that list in depth, but as someone said i always return to either CS:S or Rainbow 6.

GTA 4 for me.

MGS4 had a chance, but whilst it was a great game and an excellent ending to the series, there wasn't really anything groundbreaking there.

GTA 4 kept me wrapped up in its little world for weeks and I can't wait for the Lost and the Damned.

Fallout 3 also had a chance at the title, but the ending was a real let down.

There will always be people questioning why certain games aren't on the list, but it doesn't look like a bad set of choices to me.

Technically COD4 as it was the most played in 2008 but will go for COD5.

GTA4? Good but not great IMO. Got bored after 30% progress.

Here are my thoughts:-

GTA 4 - Loved the game although since completing it I haven't picked it up again since. Looking forward to the new DLC coming soon.

Fallout 3 - Haven't played it myself but spent a couple of hours last night watching my mate playing on the PC and nothing made me think that I needed to own it.

Call of Duty WAW - Completed it last weekend. Great game and multiplayer and Zombie mode will give it extra life but it will live in COD4s shadow.

Dead Space - Haven't played this.

FIFA 09 - Playing the demo has initially put me off purchasing this.

Gears 2 - Excellent game but again lives in the shadow of it's predecessor.

Metal gear solid: Guns of the Patriots - I've played this on my friends PS3 and if I'm honest it has almost convinced me to buy a PS3 just to be able to play it. The level of detail and storyline has been unmatched in 2008.

Resistance 2 - Really enjoyed the original in coop mode. Haven't played 2 but will definitely purchase if/when i get a PS3.

Little big planet - haven't played.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue - haven't played.

I voted for MGS purely for the fact that with the limited play I've had so far it has convinced me that £300 outlay is a good idea!
