Fifa 09 - Code??

I bought Fifa 09 from Thatz Entertainment (second hand) over the weekend for £20 which i thought was a steal, but its missing its manual, They said i didnt need it but once i got home it asked for a registration code on the back of the manual.
Is this a unique number for every fifa user or is there one code for all the copies, if so can someone post or email me the code?
what does it enable?

I think each code is unique as the way its printed on mine is slightly outside the box its supposed to be in!
The thing that it enables (adidas live season) updates a league of your choice with actual stats. For example if you choose the premiership and a striker is on a blinding run of form then in the game that striker will perform better.
I entered the code and it said it was active, however I was playing round last night and it said it was going to cost me 500 odd points to subscribe...
