COD-WAW Calling in artillery on your own headquarters...

It can be very effective at stopping a headquarters from being overrun, but you'll probably get some blue on blue as a result.

What are people's views on the etiquette around this, to be avoided unless desperate ? Or standard tactics ?

Headquarters is only available on core, so friendly fire is off.

Go ahead and drop it where you want

I always drop it on flags that need capturing in domination and tell the team to get themselves in there

I would think that if you were playing as the marines some 'blue on blue' would be expected no? :P

You can kill yourself with your own artillery, but noone else in your team. On core I might add.

Yeah grenades will kill you as well.

I apologise southend that you dropped a bomb on yourself, most people your age remember the blitz so would realise that dropping a bomb on yourself generally kills ya.

In core mode though virtuly anything goes - odd they keep this in for artillery. In CoD4 helicopter and air stikes wouldn't wipe you out unless in hardcore...IIRC.
